quote of the week

Even though I'm on Spring Break this week I still got my first grader fix when my friend, Tanya, brought her daughter, Maddie, to lunch. Maddie loves sci fi just like me so I think we'll be BFFs.

Maddie talked about how she likes to dress up like Princess Leia so her mom asked, What's your favorite scene in Star Wars?

Maddie thought for a moment and said, "When Princess Leia met the mini-Chewbaccas...the Ewoks!"

I love it! The force is strong with that one.

P.S. Ewok Star Wars Poster was made by Glenn.

golden

It's Fall Colors Week at Poppytalk, which inspires me to share cute things I've found on the internet.

When it comes to golden, I don't know anyone cuter and more golden than C3PO. Not the Droid is by Laura Kate. If you go to her blog you can download C3PO and your other favorites for free to use in your Project Life scrapbook. I also recommend checking out her Project Life pages.

True Happiness

This week at Take a Word the challenge is to use True Happiness as your inspiration. Super easy when you're working on a wedding scrapbook!
This is one of my favorite pictures from the day, although you'll notice it too is crooked (still complaining about my wedding photographer, sorry!).

I gathered a bunch of stuff from my stash. The Flirty Dots patterned paper is made by Bo-Bunny. The "love" sticker is made by Pebbles. The chipboard buttons are from the Betty collection by Love, elsie (I used one to cover a big yellow circle on the tag). The tag is the newest thing on there, made by Dear lizzy + American Crafts. The "happiness" letter stickers are Delight Thickers. Finally we come to the polka dot letter stickers made by Momenta. I don't have many left so of course I didn't have an E. No problem! I used an F and added a leg from the Z. After I put it all together all that was left was the journaling.

Yesterday on our anniversary we got some good news: DOMA was ruled unconstitutional! True Happiness is equal opportunity.

I chose to share this historic event in my journaling. It is so much sweeter celebrating our wedding anniversary knowing every marriage is recognized by the federal government!

P.S. Only 7 pages to go!

May the fourth be with you!

Happy National Scrapbook Day and Happy Kentucky Derby Day! I had fun getting 13 slots done for Project Life while watching Orb win the Derby. I was rooting for Palace Malice, Oxbow, and Charming Kitten.

P.S. Singing in the rain Storm Trooper came from Wtfeck Pictures.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Corey has to work today as he almost always has to work on Thanksgiving. Bummer! But I'm trying to stay positive. I'm thankful he has a job so we can pay our bills and take care of our little dogs. I'm thankful that I still look forward to him coming home from work even after all these years.

Face Off in the Mos Eisley Cantina

I thought it was so cool that they allowed the artists on Face Off to create a character for Star Wars. The winners got their character duplicated Clone Wars style to be put on StarWars.com. I really like the winner (made by Rod Maxwell and Roy Wooley) but the character that came in 2nd place, made by Laura and Sarah, was my favorite:
Does anyone else watch Face Off? What did you think of the characters?

P.S. Laura and Sarah's character photo came from FearNet.

May the fourth be with you.

Corey and I sometimes call Stellaluna "Black Yoda" so I had to chuckle when I came across this photo. You can buy the Yoda hat for Stellaluna here.

quote of the week

(from last week because I forgot to blog it)
from an earnest boy... "You're the best teacher in the whole damn world!" New goal: best teacher in the whole damn galaxy. P.S. Star Wars Crayons were carved by Steve Thompson.

quote of the month

Our HOA only allows yard sales on certain days of the year, and a few weekends ago it was time. I got the dogs all leashed up so we could scour the neighborhood for books and a treadmill (we found none to our liking).

As we were leaving Corey shouted, "If you get a translator make sure it speaks Bocce!" Even 2 weeks later it makes me laugh! Oh Corey.

P.S. Maori Trooper Helmet was made by Daniel Logan.

I like to travel

...but it feels good to be home.

P.S. Unfortunately I didn't get to travel with Yoda. This is a poster for Star Wars Weekends at Disney-MGM Studios.
